Perhaps their most succesful season for many years, Cliffe's two sides both had succesful seasons in the league finishing top six in both cases. Resplendent in their DSM kit they also reached a cup final
The first team had a very good season finishing third in Division ‘B’ of the Darlington District Cricket League and were also runners up to East Cowton in the Division ‘B’ Knockout Cup.
The second team went one better and finished runners up in Division ‘C’ of the Darlington District Cricket League, thanks to an unbeaten run of 11 games at the back end of the season. This would usually have given them promotion to Division ‘B’ but as the first team are already in Division ‘B’ they remain where they are.
Cliffe CC are hoping for an even better season in 2011 if we can keep some of our players free from the injuries that seemed to plague both teams this season.
DSM is proud to provide clothing and equipment for Cliffe Cricket Club. A village cricket team near Darlington, Cliffe play their cricket at Cliffe Hall Estate and are members of the Darlington and District cricket league.
They have an excellent youth policy and several of their young players have gone on to play at a higher level. Many of their older players have also played for clubs at a higher level and are now passing on their knowledge to the next generation of stars!
A very sociable club, they are the essence of “grass roots cricket” and DSM are proud to be associated with this level of the game.
