Sunderland enjoyed a good season in the NEPL with Chris Rushworth (Sponsored by DSM) performing well for the club aswell as championing the DSM equipment on Sky Sports TV in his role as a Durham CCC all rounder.
Formed in 1808 and moving to Ashbrooke in 1887 following stints at the old Town Moor, Hendon and Holmeside, Sunderland Cricket Club has a long and illustrious history often associated with Durham CCC. View the Sunderland Cricket Club website here.
A founder member of the Durham Senior League North Section in 1890, Sunderland went on to win the breakaway Durham Senior Cricket League Championship on no less than eighteen occassions.
The club recently joined the newly-formed North East Premier League - and won the title in its inaugural season of 2000.
The club is also proud to have current Durham CCC player Chris Rushworth in it's ranks who is also a DSM sponsored player.
