2010 season
Another great season by the Swalwell 1st XI as they again won their league beating off a challenge from Shotle Bridge.
Swalwell cricket club will be celebrating their 130th anniversary in 2010 and DSM Cricket are pleased to be sponsoring them for the next 2 seasons. We shall have an advertising board at the ground and be part sponsoring their 1st and 2nd team shirts with our logo on the sleeves.
Swalwell have won their league, Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League (NTSL) for the past three consecutive seasons and a fourth success in 2010 will be a league record. DSM are proud to be associated with such a successful club.
Ex Durham CCC player, Nick Phillips is their pro and with the likes of Richie Hawthorne who was a MCC young cricketer, a pro in New Zealand and at Bishop Auckland CC among their ranks things are looking pretty impressive at this progressive club.
Their new ground with its elegant pavilion and club house has been in existence for 10 years now since the club moved from their old home. They have plans for expansion and are looking towards the future with the formation of an under 18 side to accompany junior sides at Under 11, 13’s and 15’s next season.
You can keep up to date with their success story on our website during the season.
